Nestled within the picturesque Adelaide Hills is Red Cacao, crafters of genuine hand made chocolates using the finest European couverture. The range is truly unique from truffles to seasonal flavours in their chocolate blocks. Come Friday night and the cafe transforms into a dessert bar offering exquisite desserts by candlelight. To complement your sweet treats, they also have a range of hot chocolates, coffees and iced drinks to wash it all down.

This quaint little cafe has roughly a dozen seats both inside and out. The eclectic choice of seating works seems to work well with the other elements in the room. The place is neat and well presented, and has a very casual relaxed vibe.

For dessert, I had the Rich Dark Chocolate Tart which came out soon after ordering. Full of chocolate goodness, the tart was rich and velvety, with a texture like a chocolate fudge. Each moment was savoured with every bite as I felt like I was transported to heaven and back. A truly wonderful experience.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the service was very good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable. The cost of the tart was $8.50, which may be considered pricey, but given how good it was, it was worth every cent.
