As a person who spends a lot of time eating out, I’ll admit that my diet isn’t all that good. As a long time follower of Daily Bread Waymouth Street on Instagram, I’ve always been drawn in by all the healthy food that they have on offer. This morning, I saw a post of one of their raw juices and I just knew I had to go down there and have some.

Daily Bread Waymouth Street are located in The Lobby food court and have their very own Raw Juice Bar. With 5 raw juice combinations to choose from, each one uses fresh locally sourced ingredients. Some of juices taste quite good while others are just a celebration of healthy natural ingredients with the purpose of cleansing your body.
These juices don’t come in a bottle which means they’re free of preservatives. I’ve also read that to get the full benefits of these raw juices, you need to consume them within 30 minutes of blending. With the full selection of juices on hand, it was time to get drinking!

The Awesome Foursome contains carrot, watermelon, pineapple and ginger.
I love the beautiful orange colour of this raw juice. The wonderful slightly sweet nutty taste of the carrot complements the natural sweetness of the pineapple well. With subtle notes of ginger, this drink is both tasty and refreshing.

The Citrus Inspired contains orange, lemon, lime and apple.
Out of all the raw juices, this one is my favourite because it tastes just like orange juice. With the orange, lime and lemon, you’re certainly getting your daily dose of vitamin c. The sweetness of the orange and apple also balance out the zest of the lime and lemon.

The Green Machine contains apples, spinach, cucumber, ginger, broccoli and celery.
This raw juice is so green it must be healthy! The apple gives it a bit of sweetness and you can taste the subtle notes of ginger and celery. The focus of this refreshing drink is not on the taste, but on the all star cast of healthy natural ingredients.

The Fresh Kick contains watermelon, pineapple, cucumber and apple.
I’d have to say this was my least favourite of the raw juices. Visually, it doesn’t look as appealing as the others. The taste is alright as you have the sweetness of the pineapple balancing out the slight sourness of the apple.
It’s important to note that every juice that is made will vary in taste due to the natural differences in ingredients. ie. one apple may taste different to another. You also need to consider whether the fruit or vegetable is in season.
The jury is out on this one. I’m sure if I had this one again, it would probably taste better.

The Detox contains beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger.
With a beautiful natural red colour of beetroot, this raw juice is very true to its name and you’ll feel the affects of it pretty much soon after you drink it. This drink will cleanse your insides like bleach does on a bathroom floor. It will go through you like water through a funnel. With the natural sweetness of the betroot and apple, it tastes good as well.

The Kermit is not part of the raw juice range, but a blend, and is a sneak peak of one of their new Summer range. It contains banana, spinach, apple, spirolina, almonds and chia.
If this is part of the new Summer range, I’m certainly looking forward to their other blended juices on offer. It was simply amazing with the wonderful natural sweetness of the banana shining through. Mixed in a wealth of other natural healthy ingredients, this is one of those “must try once in your life” healthy drinks.

Of course, what would a visit be without having some of their beautifully marinated slow cooked meats. The beauty of this place is that you get to make up what you want to eat. It ends up costing around the $10 mark which is cheap if you compare it to other places, and more importantly, all the ingredients are fresh and healthy.
For lunch today, I felt like a Roast Beef Focaccia with beetroot, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese and a ranch sauce. The roast beef was just out of the oven and was lean, tender and succulent. The meat was so juicy and flavoursome, I almost died and went to heaven.
The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the cucumber added a nice crunchy texture. The beetroot had a wonderful natural sweetness which was complemented by the subtle acidity of the ranch dressing. Packed into a freshly baked focaccia roll, it was healthy, delicious and satisfying.

As per usual, the service was excellent. There are few places that can honestly say that they offer fresh, great tasting, healthy food at very reasonable prices. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!
