With a name like Uyghur Cuisine, there’s no mistaking what type of food you’ll get at this place. For those who haven’t experienced it, the use of mutton, kebabs and fish are quite common, and in my experience, the dishes are spicy.

For lunch, I ordered the Pintoza Salad which consisted of glass noodles, pickled carrot, spring onions, capsicum, chilli and garlic in what appeared to be fish based dressing. The noodles were well cooked and had a silk smooth texture. This was complemented by the sweet tangy pickled carrot and the crunchiness of the raw vegetables. The salad is a bit of an acquired taste and was surprisingly refreshing.

The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The pricing is reasonable with all of their dishes being around the $10 mark. The salad only cost me $5, which in this climate, you would consider a bargain. For a full plate of salad elsewhere, you’d be paying close to $20.
