The Barbecue Caterer

The Fork on the Road does a fantastic job bringing together Adelaide’s food trucks in a monthly celebration of street food. This months location at the recently revamped Victoria Square was no different as it set the stage for the best in mobile food that Adelaide has to offer.

One place that did catch my eye was The Barbecue Caterer, who are based in Newton. Under a large black and red tent, this place serves up three of my favourite foods; pork ribs, burgers and wood oven pizzas. The smell of barbecued meats coming from this place just draws you in like dirt to a vacuum.

I ordered the Pork Ribs which are $8 for 4 ribs. This equates to $2 a rib which may appear a bit pricey. The ribs were cooked prior and were sitting in the warmer.

The Pork Ribs were simply amazing! The ribs were a decent size and full of tender, succulent juicy well marinated meat. They were so good, I’m still licking my lips thinking about it. Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had and well worth the price tag.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The pork ribs were $8, while the burger and wood oven pizzas were $12. With the average cost of food at a food truck being around $10, the pricing wasn’t unreasonable.

I know I’ve said this already, but the Pork Ribs were simply amazing! I think I might pop down to Victoria Square to get some more!
