Zambrero – Hindley Street

While having a big night on the town, one usually looks for some sort of sustenance to soak up all the alcohol. One of the healthier options available in the early hours of the morning is Zambrero. It’s essentially the Mexican version of Subway. Pick you style, pick your filling, pick your salsa, pick your sauce and away you go!

For a snack, I had the Beef Bowl. It’s essentially a burrito without the tortilla. It was made on the spot and ready in less than 5 minutes. The beef filling was actually quite nice. The steak was lean and tender, and marinated in cumin and garlic. The salsa contained vegetables that were fresh and crisp. The chipotle sauce was nice but a little bit runny.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The pricing is fairly standard with the Beef Bowl costing me $10.90. Definitely healthier than getting a yiros at that time of morning.
