For over quarter of a century, Skala Bakery has been providing Adelaide with quality baked products. New sour doughs, complex flavours, improved techniques and exotic breads are what sets this place apart from your typical bakery.

Today, I ordered a Cornish Pasty and Potato Pie. The pasty was a decent size with a soft delicate pastry. The carrots and potatoes were a bit on the firmer side, while minced meat made it’s presence throughout the filling. The Potato Pie on the other hand was of a decent quality. The minced beef was lean and combined in tasty thick gravy. The mashed potato was nice and soft with a slightly crusty exterior. The only criticism was both the pasty and pie had slightly cold fillings.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. Pricing is reasonable and on par with what you would pay at any other bakery. There’s a reason why this place has been around for so long. They’re products are good and they obviously know what they’re doing.
