Windy Point Cafe

I’d have to say that the only place better than the Windy Point Cafe is the restaurant with the same name upstairs. With breath taking views across the city, the only difference between the two establishments is the slightly cheaper price point and the lower view elevation. The decor is more casual than what you find in the restaurant but I prefer it as it seems less outdated.

Tonight, I ordered the Twice Cooked Pork Belly. The meals were ready after a 15 minute wait and were nicely presented. The pork was tender and succulent, and the portion size was generous. The caramel sauce gave the dish plenty of depth and balance. The crackling pork skin was sufficiently crunchy and not hard enough to break any teeth. The cabbage provided a nice crunchy texture while the potato was soft, delicate and well dressed.

Everybody in the group was pleased with their meals and there was not a complaint to be had.

The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The service was excellent. Cloth napkins were placed on our laps, the waiters had good knowledge of the menu, drinks were constantly poured and plates were cleared as we finished. The food was simply outstanding and the atmosphere was intimate and relaxed.

The experience was just as good as dining at the restaurant upstairs. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

looks good! sure about those fries though.. they look a little bit like ‘frozen’ fries?

    1. yes, the fries were frozen. hand cut chips are preferred as they are free of preservatives.
