Pasta Chef opened in Adelaide over 20 years ago and is a manufacturer of fresh pasta and sauces. The Brooklyn Park store is small in size and their products are only available for take away. They pride themselves in using premium quality ingredients and their pasta is made from 100% durum wheat semolina which is low in GI. Their menu is fairly simple with a risotto and 8 different pasta types combined with 4 different types of sauces and your choice of protein (beef, chicken, vegetable, spinach and ricotta). Their take away packs come in 4 different sizes and the prices vary accordingly.

Today, I had the Beef Risotto. The risotto was rich and creamy, and full of flavour. Semi-round rice grains were used which has the required starch to make the rice grains stick. The bolognese sauce contained lean chunks of minced beef and ripened tomatoes. The sauce was delicate, aromatic, creamy and subtle, and it married quite well with the rice.

The staff here are friendly and the service is really good. The pricing represents good value for money with 3 lunch packs costing $10. The serving sizes are decent and the quality is at a premium. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so in the future.
