I’ve driven past this store on many occasions and was intrigued to find out what they’re all about. The name 100 Food Station doesn’t reflect how many items that are on their menu but rather the numeric location of their store. The decor is neat and basic with the highlight being their unique solid timber furnishings and their bright orange walls. The clientele are primarily take away customers as there is only enough seating for 8.
Their menu is like a fast food version of east meets west, with rolls being predominant on their menu. There’s a selection of Asian inspired bread rolls from your most common Asian regions to your American style cheese steak rolls. They have even have hot dogs, Asian salads and beef noodle soup. Perfect for Summer weather, they also have a range of smoothies. The smoothies come with a loyalty juice card where every 4th smoothie is free.

Today, I ordered the Chinese Style Roast Pork Roll. Costing $5, I was amazed at how much filling they were able to pack in. The amount of roast pork was generous and the quality of the meat was at a premium. The meat was lean, tender and succulent, and the crunchy skin had a perfect crunchiness about it. Over cooked roast pork skin is capable of breaking teeth. The coriander and cucumber were nice and fresh, while the pickled carrot could have been a bit more sour. The chilli paste used lacked the kick I was hoping for, but I could taste a hint of fermented bean curd in the mix. The bread was nice and solid, and firm enough to hold all the ingredients.

The staff were friendly and the service was pretty good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing here is fairly good value. For $5, my lunch was more than satisfying. The quality is good and they certainly don’t skimp on the portion size. This is really my kind of place!
