Little Hanoi is a little dine in and take away store located on Pirie Street, close to the corner of King William Street. With seating for about 16 people (8 inside and 8 outside), a majority of their clientele are take away customers. Like most Vietnamese places, there are several noodle soups on offer as well as a range of noodle salads and rice platters. The decor is basic and yet contemporary. The picture frames hanging off the wall makes the place feel a bit more authentic.
Today, I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup. The service was really quick and my meal was out not long after 5 minutes. All the traditional accompaniments were provided on the side. The broth was piping hot and sufficiently cooked the raw meat slices in my dish. The broth wasn’t too oily and the flavours were just about right. I did think they went a little overboard with the coriander because that seemed to overpower everything else. The beef was lean and a generous amount was provided. The noodles were well cooked, however, the amount was slightly conservative.

The staff here were really friendly and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere was relaxed, although this place does get busy during the lunch time rush. The pricing is more than reasonable with nothing over $8.50. I’d have to say this place is pretty good, as they did just about everything right. Definitely worth a visit!
