East End Providore

East End Providore is a cute little breakfast-lunch-coffee-gourmet-local-produce store in Ebeneezer Place. The decor is modern and homey, with a style very similar to a lot of the new stores opening up around the city. The timber crates carrying fresh fruit and the abundance of natural light flowing through the store just gave this place a very cosy atmosphere. The staff were ever so friendly and the service was pretty good.

For breakfast, I had the Good

Good Two Shoe
Good Two Shoe

Two Shoe; poached chicken, avocado, baby spinach and fresh tomatoes in a sourdough sandwich. The chicken was minced up into balls and nicely spiced. The avocado was mashed up and spread like butter on the bread. The vegetables were fresh and the bread was nice and crusty. The dish was nicely presented and deceptively filling.

The venue itself is not as large as the breakfast place in the direct diagonal direction, but not too bad if you come just when they open early in the morning. Depending on what you get, you may think this place is a slightly higher priced. I was about to have the quiche, which was rather small, for $8.50. Instead I ordered the Good Two Shoe, which appeared small, for $12. But hipsters won’t worry about price, they just come here to be seen!
