Caffe Amore

The nearest place to eat when you’re about to dance at Red Love next door? Caffe Amore. The distinct lack of customers on a Friday night was a bit of a warning sign but none the less, we were hungry.

The venue is certainly spacious with plenty of seating that aren’t even close to each other. The place is modernly decorated with nice clean lines and imposing low hanging circular light fittings. The caffe had a live singer belting out 70’s tunes throughout the meal. She wasn’t Barbara Streisand but I reckon she’d have a chance on Australian Idol.

Tonight, I ordered the Rigatoni Con Pollo. The meal came out after a 15 minute wait and all meals arrived at the same time. The pasta was nice and al dente. The chicken was slightly overcooked and the amount provided was very conservative. I was lucky to find half a dozen chicken morsels in my dish. They did use chicken breast which is fabulous for the health conscious. The rose sauce was a bit salty but the dish was still edible.

The staff were nice and friendly, and the service was pretty good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the dining experience was OK. I thought the huge let down was the meal, however, the people that I was with thought their meals were great. When it comes to picking the average meals at restaurants, I’m pretty good at it. I may come here again in the future, but only for coffee and dessert.
