Giwa is a modern Korean restaurant located on the King William Road cafe precinct. The decor here is classy and stylish with good use of colour coordination on their wallpaper, leather seating and light fittings. The neutral colours used create a calming effect, and coupled with the relaxing sounds of jazz music playing in the background, are ideal for the most intimate occasions. This cosy little restaurant can seat about 30 people.
The service here is top class. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Little things, such as placing the napkins on our laps to the speed and efficiency in which our drinks were served, did not go unnoticed. While the menu was not extensive, it was quite traditional. The waiter was very knowledgeable about what was on offer and I felt like he did everything he could to make our dining experience enjoyable.
Tonight, I ordered the Beef Bulgogi. The meal arrived 15 minutes after ordering and all meals arrived at the same time. My dish was beautifully presented and it actually looked too good to eat. The slices of grain rib eye steak were tender, lean and perfectly marinated. The combination of soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar were just right. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the dish as a whole was well balanced and full of flavour. Possibly the best Beef Bulgogi I’ve ever had!

The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was excellent, and the quality and presentation of the food was second to none. As critical as I normally am, I found it very difficult to find any faults at this place. I had the most pleasant and enjoyable evening, and I felt privileged to be sitting in that restaurant. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. You must check this place out!
