Mother’s Crepe is found on a busy little corner on Grote Street. It shares its store with Chatime, which are both owned by the same franchisee. As the name suggests, they specialise in crepes with over a 100 to choose from. On top of that, they also sell smoothies and a range of ice cream, some of them Asian inspired.
Conveniently located on a corner position, this store has two entrances; the main one on Grote Street and a small entrance at the rear of building. The decor here is modern with various seating options available. I really like the plastic versions of the menu items on display. There’s absolutely no confusion as to what you’re going to get.
Last night, I decided to try their Green Tea Ice Cream. The pricing is pretty much on par with a nearby gelati store, and with 3 people working behind the counter, the service was fast and efficient. I have this big thing for hygiene and this store doesn’t compromise on cleanliness. There was one store attendant constantly cleaning the ice cream scoops and wiping bench tops.

The ice cream itself was OK. It didn’t have the smooth creaminess that I would normally expect from ice cream, but you did get the full hit of green tea flavour. The store was loud but I could still hear my friends talk from about a metre away. I’ve been told that I should try the Banana and Custard Crepe, so I might give that a go the next time I visit.
