I’ve walked past Harry’s Bar on many occasions and have always been meaning to visit. When I saw they had $5 burgers and steak sandwiches between 12 to 2:30pm on Tuesdays, I saw this as a perfect opportunity. Located close to the corner of King William and Grenfell, the decor in this bar is swanky yet stylish. If I could imagine an American bar in the 1950’s that was a little bit gangster, this would be it. From what I could gather, there were only 3 things on the menu; burgers, steak sandwiches and oysters. The staff here are friendly and the service is pretty good.
Today, I ordered the burger. The meals came out after a 10 minute wait and all meals arrived at the same time. The burger came out semi-deconstructed but was still well presented. Being someone who doesn’t like to get their hands dirty, I wasn’t impressed that a knife was the only eating utensil provided. The burger itself was simple yet delicious. The beef patty was perfectly cooked, and surprisingly juicy and thick. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the caramelised onion was a beautiful golden brown. The bun was lightly toasted, and of a decent quality, as it didn’t fall apart while eating.

I don’t think you can really complain when you have a satisfying $5 burger. The atmosphere here was relaxed and the experience as a whole was quite enjoyable. Definitely worth checking out!
