I’ve been to this place for drinks on many occasions but never for food. I came here for lunch today just to complete the experience. The Benjamin on Franklin is beautifully designed pub. The intricately hand crafted timber dining furniture, the elegant vintage chairs, the warm cosy fire place, the innovative light fixtures, the exposed stone work and the spacious outdoor courtyard are some of it’s impressive features. The attention to detail of this place is truly amazing.
For lunch today, I ordered the Chicken Parmi. The meal came after a 15 minute wait and all dishes arrived at the same time. The chicken was perfectly cooked and of a nice size and thickness. The Napoletana sauce was rich in texture and had appropriate coverage over the schnitzel. The mozzarella topping was generous and the schnitzel itself could have spent one or two more minutes browning under the grill.
The salad was fresh as the vegetables were nice and crunchy. A vinaigrette dressing was used on the salad and just the right amount was added. I did think the salad bowl was a bit small, but then again, I’m not a big fan of salad. The beer battered chips were very well done. The chips were not too thin and not too thick. They were nice and crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. A perfect amount of salt was applied to make them irresistibly delicious.

As we were the only customers on the premises, the service was fantastic. The staff here were friendly, attentive and not overbearing. They were always around when we needed them. The atmosphere was relaxed and the experience as a whole was quite enjoyable. I will definitely be back!
