Burger Addiction

One of the new food outlets at the Rundle Place food court is Burger Addiction. The new gourmet burger place is one of the latest to open across Adelaide, and offers a range of beef, chicken, pork and vegetarian burgers. The beef burgers are all $10, the chicken burgers $12 and the pork and vegetarian burgers are $9.

Today, I ordered the Gangnam Magnum Pulled Pork Burger. The burger consists of pulled pork, cucumber, kim chi and garlic aioli. Prior to ordering, I was told there would be a 10 minute wait as it was the store’s first day and the cooks were still learning how to make the burgers. The burgers are all freshly made upon ordering which is the way it should be.

My burger finally arrived after a 30 minute wait. Looking into the kitchen, it appeared there was only one cook putting all the burgers together, and he was doing it one by one. There was a queue of a dozen people waiting behind the counter for their burgers which was totally unacceptable.

The burger was served to me in a greasy paper box. As soon as you picked up the burger, all the ingredients started to fall out from the bottom. The pork wasn’t tender and stringy as it should have been but more thick bland slices of steamed pork. The combination of garlic aioli and kim chi was interesting but I personally didn’t like it. There wasn’t enough garlic in the aioli and there wasn’t enough kick in the kim chi.

Service was poor, burger was below average and meal was not satisfying. Nothing more to say.
