Estia

I’ve been to Estia’s on numerous occasions over the years and I’ve always had an enjoyable experience. Located in Henley Square, the restaurant is metres away from the jetty. The atmosphere is relaxed and if you’re dining outdoors, you get to see the sun set over the horizon during the summer.

Tonight, I ordered the banquet. The meals started coming out 15 minutes after ordering and the first things to arrive were the dips. The pita bread provided was warm and the dips all had a common ingredient, garlic. The dips were plentiful and we had to have a couple of servings of pita bread to finish it off.

Next up was the Fried Cheese. The dish was reminiscent of toasted cheese that had been under the grill for too long. Delicious none the less!

After that, we had the Salt and Pepper Calamari with Greek Salad. The calamari was overcooked, and some parts had too much salt, and other parts didn’t have enough. The salad was perfectly made. I particularly liked the feta cheese which was fresh.

Finally, we had the Marinated Barbecue Lamb and Chicken. Tender lean pieces of lamb and chicken thigh fillets that had been cooked over charcoals. You could taste the smokiness in the meat. It was almost heavenly.

Service was a bit slow at times. Waiters would come and go, but they were never around when you needed them. Apart from the calamari, it was almost a perfect meal. I was so full at the end of the banquet, I almost had to roll out the door.
