While thinking about where to go for lunch, a coworker suggested the Woolshed because they had meals for a reasonable price. First impressions of the place weren’t that great. The tables and chairs in the outside dining area were covered in alcohol residue, and the inside of the place was dark and dingy. The place had a strange odour which was borderline offensive. The place is decked out like a country western set, and there weren’t many staff around to be seen.
Today, I ordered the Chicken Parmi. The meal arrived 30 minutes after ordering and was perfectly cooked. The schnitzel was of the right thickness, however the length and width was a bit small. Considering the meal was $12 which included a Corona, I’ll let that pass. The Napoletana sauce was light in flavour and thickness, and not the rich tomatoey texture that I expect. The sauce, however, did have sufficient coverage over the schnitzel. There was also an insufficient amount of mozzarella cheese on the schnitzel. I expect stringy mozzarella bits with every cut into the chicken schnitzel. The chips were thick and perfectly cooked. Crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The salad was below average. Although there was plenty of salad, the vegetables tasted like they were a few days old.

You get what you pay for, and this is a prime example of it. Having said that, it’s not a bad place for a cheap meal.

You should re-visit as they have changed a little. I was impressed.
