Ajisen Ramen is a franchise ramen store that first opened it’s doors in Adelaide on Leigh Street. They have an extensive menu and also offer bento boxes and rice dishes. The store on Leigh Street is small and the decor is simple traditional Japanese. The staff here are friendly and attentive.
Today, I ordered the Tonkatsu Bento. The meals arrived not long after ordering, although I had to wait for my Gyoza to cook when my bento box arrived. The Gyoza wasn’t too bad even though it was only fried on one side. There was a sufficient amount of filling and you could tell it was freshly made. The Yakitori was delicious. The chicken was well marinated and full of flavour. The Pork Tonkatsu was over fried and dry. There wasn’t enough barbecue sauce on the pork so it was difficult to eat with the rice. The serving itself was generous as I felt quite full after the meal.

Not the best Japanese food I’ve ever had, but what do you expect for a fast food chain?
