It’s a Friday night and a group of friends and I are catching up for dinner before we catch up with others for drinks. Rumour has it, Press serves the best burgers in Adelaide, and I was here to find out.
The meals arrived 15 minutes after ordering and the burger was nicely presented on a wooden chopping board. The beef patty was of a good thickness and of the same diameter as the bun. The meat was cooked to perfection as it had a nice pinkish centre. The char grilled flavours were evident with the very first bite into the juicy goodness. The cheese was soft and gooey, and had been carefully melted over the patty.
The lettuce and tomato were fresh and crisp, and the red onion added a naturally sweet flavour. This was balanced by the saltiness of the proscuitto and the tangyness of the pickles. The tomato sauce and the mayonnaise made the burger less dry. All the ingredients as a whole really worked well together. The brioche bun had a subtle sweetness and was firm enough to hold all the ingredients.

The staff were friendly and the service was exceptional. Drinks were constantly refilled and plates were cleared as we finished. The atmosphere was vibrant and the pricing is reasonable. The cost of the burger was $18.50 which includes a side of onion rings. The burger was indeed one of the best I’ve had. The quality and combination of ingredients is a real winner and it’s worth paying that extra for.
