I used to go to Mapo for their Korean Barbecue. It used to be amazing because they had a wide range of marinated meats and Korean vegetables, and the use of charcoal in the cooking process added so much flavour to the food. Then they started taking things off the buffet menu to the point where it wasn’t worth visiting anymore.
Only recently have I revisited this restaurant. They have converted the barbecue area at the back to a more intimate dining experience. The food here is not your average Korean but more modern with an emphasis on presentation. The decor is modern and the service is exceptional.
On this occasion, I decided to order something totally different and went for the Kinky Chicken. While the chicken may have been into bondage and handcuffs before it got to the kitchen, the dish itself was a boring chicken dish given an interesting name. It could best be described as glorified chicken strips.

The service and atmosphere at this place are quite good. The prices are a bit upmarket, but in general, the dining experience was quite good. Just don’t go for the Kinky Chicken.
