Cafe Komodo

I discovered Cafe Komodo by chance when a group of us were looking for a place to eat. Set behind a small alleyway in Prospect, this restaurant is basically a converted 1950’s house with all the original furniture. Without booking, the staff were warm and inviting, and were able to accommodate the 25 of us into a cosy rumpus room at the back of the place. The room was lit by lamp shades and we all sat on comfortable old sofas.

On this occasion, I decided to order the Adana Kebab. The meals came out promptly but we did have problems fitting all the dishes on the small coffee tables. Instead everyone ate with the dishes on their laps. The kebab was delicious! The lamb was marinated well and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the garlic sauce was well made. While eating it was a bit of a challenge, the atmosphere and the company of friends made it an enjoyable experience.

Service was good. Food was good. Seating could be improved but not a bad place to visit!
