Jerusalem Sheshkebab House

Jerusalem House is an Adelaide institution that has been around for many decades. Located on Hindley Street, this place is renown for their cheap good food and bad service. The decor is hilarious with the use of Hessian bags as a ceiling and McDonald’s benches as seating. The plastic jugs, the dim lights and the inattentive staff make dining here a memorable experience.

On all the occasions I’ve been here I’ve always ordered the banquet. It’s a great way to try all of the dishes and for what you get, it’s more than reasonable. The food arrived soon after ordering and while being simple in appearance, they were delicious! The hummus was soft and creamy and the babaghanoush was perfectly spiced. The cabbage rolls were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The falafel was light and fluffy. The lamb kofta was succulent and tender and the cauliflower was to die for! I’m drooling on the keyboard as I’m writing this!

People don’t come here for the service and decor, they come here for an authentic satisfying middle eastern meal at a reasonable price. This is exactly what you get!
