Charcoal Hwaro is definitely one of best Korean BBQ places in Adelaide. Located on a side street just outside the Central Markets, this place is an absolute delight for the carnivores who love their Korean food. The restaurant is small and cosy but also doubles as a butcher. If you don’t have time to cook your meal at the restaurant, you can take the marinated meats home and stink out your own place! The thing I love about this place is the use of charcoal when cooking the meat. The charcoal flavour in the cooked meats make it so much better!
The place is a bit pricier than your usual Korean barbecue buffets but you pay for the quality of the meats. My personal favourites are the bulgogi, spicy pork, marinated chicken and the beef ribs. There is extensive range of salads as well as two soups to choose from. There is a 100 minute time limit for you to finish your meal, but I find that’s more than enough time to stuff yourself. There is also a $5 surcharge for food wastage which I think is a fair concept.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and have thoroughly enjoyed it on every occasion. Spicy Korean food isn’t exactly for everyone, but if you’re into it, it’s definitely a place you should check out!
