When I’m meeting a friend for lunch, we always go to The Wakefield Hotel, only because it’s closest to her work. The clientele are mainly professionals who work near by and the pub has all your traditional fare on the menu.

Today, I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce. The meal came out 15 minutes after ordering and all the dishes arrived at the same time. My meal was nicely presented and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The schnitzel was nicely crumbed, but the size and diameter of the chicken was a bit small. The mushroom sauce was thick, while the vegetables in the salad were nice and crispy. The vinaigrette dressing worked well with the salad and just the right amount was added.

The service here was good and the atmosphere was relaxed. The menu pricing is average, although I felt I could have had a bit more on my plate. This place is not bad, but not great either.
