With two vegan eateries side by side, Bent Street is like the vegan hub of Adelaide. Just like their next door neighbour, Joy Discovery also have their own burger menu, but that’s where the similarities end. The other dishes at this place have more of a subcontinental influence with your dahl and curries.

The decor is neat and well presented with plenty of natural light flowing through it’s floor to ceiling windows. I counted about 50 seats inside and a dozen more along the pavement. The Tibetan chants playing in the background are kind of mesmorising and I kind of felt like going into a state of meditation.

For lunch, I ordered the Mexicana Burger which consists of red kidney beans, tuscan bean paste, rainbow salad, greens and sweet chilli sauce.
The meal came out 10 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The burger appeared quite small, but the ingredient combination made it surprisingly filling. The bean paste was mildly flavoured, and soft and delicate. This was complemented by the crunchy texture of the fresh salad and the subtle sweetness of the chilli sauce. The rye bun was fresh and firm enough to hold all the ingredients.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable. The cost of the burger was $11.50 which is the average price for a gourmet burger with meat, as well as all the other dishes on the menu. Looking at the menu, the most expensive dish was $16.50 which is still acceptable.
