While stumbling home after a big night out, I felt I needed a bit of sustenance to cure the hunger pains. Right in front of me was a big shiny new 24 hour Oporto store. The fit out is sleek and modern with magnificent double storey high ceilings in the front section. The glass facade would no doubt allow plenty of natural light to come in during the day. With low hanging light fittings and bright vibrant colours, everything about this place just feels very inviting.

Last night, I ordered the Roman Aioli burger. The burger took a good 20 minutes to arrive after ordering which I thought was way too slow for a fast food joint. I didn’t see too many customers around either so I don’t know what the hold up was. When it was finally ready, it contained two thin slices of well cooked chicken which didn’t have great coverage over the bun. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, while more garlic could have been added to their aioli. The bun was a decent size and firm enough to hold all the ingredients. The burger was a bit bland for my liking.

The staff were friendly, but the service was incredibly slow. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing is what you would expect to pay at your typical fast food joint. The Roman Aioli burger was $6.98 which was fair price for what you got. I’ve had better and more expensive gourmet burgers but the place is not too bad for a quick feed in the early hours of the morning. I would imagine there are less healthier places to eat. Love the fit out of the store though.
