With so many chicken shops in the Western suburbs, I was surprised to learn that Chicken Cave is a local institution in the area. The store is not particularly large with no seating available for dine in. Their menu offers cooked Lilydale chickens in various forms with hamburgers and salads also making an appearance. It is very much your traditional chicken shop with nothing you can’t find at any of their competitors.

Today, I ordered the Chicken and Chips. The chicken was a nice size, and the meat was tender and succulent. The skin was a beautiful golden brown and eating it was absolute heaven. The chips were a nice thick cut and cooked to perfection. Nice and crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The quality of the chips was also good with no crunchy throw away bits.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The pricing was fair and on par with their competitors. I found the quality of their food to be a bit better than their nearby competitors so they’re definitely worth a visit!
