Laurent is a privately owned family bakery with 15 stores in Victoria and New South Wales. Their focus is producing quality bread and baked goods in the French tradition.
Their Melbourne store has an old world Parisian charm about it with decor that oozes style and elegance. There’s an abundance of food on offer in their glass display cabinets with baguettes, cakes, sweets and savoury items, only to name a few.
When I’m in a store, I like to pick their most their most unique product, which in this case, was the Bora Bora dessert. The dessert consists of coconut dacquoise, dark chocolate mousse, wild strawberry coulis, coconut mousse and macaron shells. There’s a whole range of flavours and textures in this dessert with the natural sweet crunchiness of the coconut, the light and airy chocolate mousse, and the sweet and thick consistency of the strawberry coulis.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable.
