Every second store that opens up these days seems to be either a burger joint or a dessert bar. Nordburger is one of the latest burger joints to pop up in Adelaide.
The store itself is in a great location. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the store and there is a lot of foot traffic, so it’s not hard to notice. The place itself is kind of small with seating for about 20 people. The kitchen area, I feel, takes up too much space as the passage way to the rear is quite narrow. The decor has a warehouse feel about it, particularly with the exposed concrete bench tops. The rear of the premises is unfinished, with what looks like an area for basins. There are no toilets in this place.
Today, I ordered the Bacon Double. Just looking at the other orders around me, the burgers appears slightly larger than a slider so I felt I needed something a bit more substantial. The burger was ready after a 15 minute wait, and the food came in the sequence in which it was ordered. The burger was well presented and the meat was thick, juicy and perfectly cooked. The bacon was sliced so thin, you could see it, but you really couldn’t taste it. The pickles were both tangy and crunchy, and the bun was firm and soft..

Their Chipotle Fries on the other hand were nothing really special. They reminded me of the crinkle cut chips that you buy frozen at the supermarket. They were nice and thick, and appeared to have been fried twice. The chipotle salt they used was nice, but I’ve had better fries in my time.
As this place opened a few days ago, this place can get really busy. A friend who came late had to wait over 20 minutes for his meal. The staff are really friendly, and the atmosphere was somewhere between relaxed and vibrant. The pricing is very reasonable compared to their competitors. Most of the burgers are around the $10 mark, and when compared to the places that sell $15-$20 burgers, this place is pretty good.
