Prior to flying into Melbourne, we already had a list of the places that we wanted to eat. Unfortunately, the restaurants that we wanted to eat at, had a no booking policy and we found ourselves unable to get a table at the destination of our choice. We were staying at a hotel on Elizabeth Street which saw us wandering around nearby looking for somewhere to eat. It was about 9pm at night, and Coconut House was the only place that could seat us, albeit outside.
For dinner, I had the Barbecue Chicken Rice. The dishes came out 20 minutes after ordering and were nicely presented. The chicken was tender and succulent, and really well marinated. The boiled eggs were infused with flavour and the fresh sliced cucumber added a nice crunchy texture. The steamed rice was well cooked with nice individual grains and the accompanying sauce added more depth to the dish.

These were the dishes that the others ordered, to which everyone seemed satisfied.

While it was a busy Friday night, we did think the service was a bit slow. The atmosphere was vibrant and the pricing was good value for money. All of the mains were around the $10 mark, which is unheard of for dinner time prices in Adelaide.
