Located right in the heart of South Yarra is a popular patisserie by the name of Burch & Purchese. With the most amazing decor you’ve ever seen and a decent selection of sweets and desserts on offer, you’ll feel like a kid in a candy store. A friend of mine, who is originally from Melbourne, absolutely loves this place, and from my initial impressions, I could see why. I did notice there were a few outdoor seats and no option for enjoying the desserts inside.

For dessert, I had the Explosive Raspberry Milk Chocolate. While I didn’t write down everything that was in this, all of the ingredients really worked in harmony together. The rough texture of chocolate chip cookie crumbs, the crackling of the pop rocks, the smooth silkiness of the raspberry jelly, and the crunchiness of the rice bubbles, all combined together to create a piece of heaven.

I was enjoying my dessert so much, I didn’t even ask what the group thought of theirs, although there weren’t any complaints.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. I liked how the staff were knowledgeable about their products and took the time to explain what was on offer. The atmosphere was vibrant from the sheer number of customers and the pricing was reasonable.
