If I were reviewing Bacchus purely on location, it would get a perfect rating. The bar is literally metres away from the beach, and the views of the sunset during the Summer are simply amazing. The place itself is not that large, and the atmosphere will depend on the time of day you come here….

ChurrOZ
ChurrOZ is a food truck that roams around Adelaide serving freshly made churros. Using natural local ingredients, no artificial colours or preservatives, and cooked in a cholesterol free canola oil, these Latin American donuts are the healthiest you’re going to get (if you can call them healthy!). There are basically two types of churros served…
Bar 9
Having only been to their city store, I was to keen to visit the place that started it all. This place just screams hipster from the moment you walk in. The small sun room at the front, the wall mounted shelves, and the prominent use of timber makes this place cute and yet quirky. We…
Cocolat – Henley Beach
A new Cocolat has opened at Henley Beach and is conveniently located metres away from the beach. Situated in a long and narrow store, the venue itself is deceptively large. With such a small frontage, I did feel the place lacked natural light towards the rear of the building. Today, I had their Baileys Embrace….
Royal Copenhagen – Henley Beach
It’s no coincidence that all the Royal Copenhagen stores in Adelaide are located in beach side suburbs. There’s nothing like a cold refreshing ice cream on a hot Summer’s day. The Henley Beach store is somewhat better than the Glenelg store, mainly because you can sit down and eat your dessert. The menu items are…
Base Bar
Located on the eastern side of The Parade is the Base Bar, which is an extension of The Bath Hotel. Behind a set of double doors, that are older than Adelaide, is a hipster bar that is aiding the revitalisation of the cafe precinct. The exposed brick walls and ceiling, the polished concrete floors, the…
PJ O’Brien’s
I’ve had many a drink at PJ’s over the years, but I’ve never eaten here, until today. At one time, I used to be a regular, because a friend of mine regularly played in a band here. There’d be drinking and there’d be dancing, and on a few occasions I’d still be here at 5am…
Nic & Rocco – Rundle Mall
These Nic & Rocco dessert bars seems to be popping up everywhere with another one just opening up in Rundle Mall. Like their Norwood store, this place is just as small, with seating capacity for a dozen people. The offerings are pretty much the same, however, I do see them regularly introduce new product lines….
Lawash Bakery & Kebab Shop
From the moment I stepped out of my car, I could smell meat cooking on the charcoal coming from inside this store. From the outside, this place looks old and run down. The inside doesn’t look much better, but it seemed reasonably neat and well presented. Kebabs are the most popular items (mixed, chicken, shami…
Steven Ter Horst Chocolatier – Rundle St
From humble beginnings at their Unley Road store, Steven Ter Horst has finally expanded and moved to a more central location. Now located on Rundle Street, the place is more stylish and sophisticated. The polished concrete flooring, the wall mounted shelving and the ceiling flushed lighting make this store very minimalist. The dark colour tones…
