Renowned South Australian bakery Skala Artisan Bakers has today opened its first stall at
the Adelaide Central Market.
After operating from the neighbouring Central Market Arcade stall for four decades, Skala –
one of the state’s most iconic bakery brands – has officially become an Adelaide Central
Market trader at Stall 25.
Adelaide Central Market Authority General Manager Jodie Kannane said she was excited to
welcome Skala Artisan Bakers as an official trader to the Market.
“With almost 70 years of history, local production and a commitment to traditional baking
methods, Skala is a perfect fit for the Adelaide Central Market,” she said.
Established in 1952, Skala Artisan Bakers is proudly South Australian owned and operated
and is dedicated to traditional artisan baking methods that create delicious modern bakery

breads, pastries and quiches, as well as coffee and donuts, cakes, pies, pasties and
Skala Bakery CEO Nick Bagot said he was thrilled to be moving into the Adelaide Central
Market after operating in the Market precinct for so many years.

The new Skala stall has been constructed from the ground up and includes a brand new fitout,
reflecting our local heritage and features the rustic and natural elements of South
Skala will celebrate its official launch on Friday 20 November, with specials available all day
