Cheeky Chook Eats, a modern spacious take away shop has recently celebrated their first birthday. This chicken shop on steroids has you covered for everything from chips, burgers, salads, and of course the best chicken money can buy.
We enjoyed a range of their belter menu items including:
Twice Cooked Fat Chips
The two most important things I look for in the perfect chip is how salty they are and how they crunch in my mouth. These chips were not only fat, but they hit the spot. Some people enjoy them heavily salted, some lightly, but I agree they should be smack bang in the middle, and that they were. Chicken salt is always a must which shows Cheeky Chook Eats is bang on.
Whenever I see buttermilk chicken on the menu, I do a happy dance as I know it is going to be the best of the best. The name really says it all, as when you bite into the succulent piece it has a soft and milky texture. Honestly, give it a try, you will leave a very happy person. The awesome team will also give you the choice of some sauce to dip the chicken in. I love having the chance to try different condiments to see what I prefer.
West Fried Burger – Buttermilk chicken, lettuce, provolone , bacon and chipotle aioli.
Once again, I see buttermilk I am one happy chicky. As you can imagine the chicken alone was sensational so whack it in a burger and ‘Bobs your uncle’. The condiments of aioli and provolone supports the chicken with their tang and bite. I also love bacon in burgers and the lettuce was a healthy and fresh addition.
Bettys Beef – Charcoal grilled angus beef, lettuce, provolone, bacon and tomato.
This burger is the star of the show. The beef is cooked perfectly, slightly pink in the middle. The condiments are similar to the West Fried Burger, moulding all the ingredients together. The soft and sweet brioche bun is something we see used a lot in burgers lately. It works superbly with this combination of flavours.
Cheeseburger Loaded Fries
I had my eye on this dish before even stepping foot in the shop. The image of pickles, cheeseburger bits, mayo, sauce and onion loaded onto thin shoe string fries, excites me. Are you one of those people that puts your fries into your cheese burger? Well that is exactly what this tasted like. Heaven in a bowl.
Whenever I go to a chicken shop, I love to pick a few different salads to go with my meal, as I enjoy having the option. I enjoyed how authentically middle eastern this salad tasted. The spiced cauliflower was a pleasant surprise, and worked well with the crunchy almonds. A drizzle of lemon to top it off.
Thank you to the team at Cheeky Chook Eats, we value not only your awesome menu, but the service you provided us as well. We will be back!
