Barossa Be Consumed – Australia’s First Regional Wine and Spirit Store

Barossa’s wineries and distilleries have activated a new dedicated regional online store. http://www.barossabeconsumed.com.au is considered the first regional wine and spirit store in Australia run by and for the producers.

The Barossa Grape & Wine Association (BGWA), has coordinated the online collaboration. Chief executive, James March, commented, “There wouldn’t be a single Barossa winemaker – be they small or large – who hasn’t had the foundations of their world shaken to some degree by changes in the way we all go about our lives. However, our winemaking community is ever willing to work together, both through the good times and the challenging ones, and the Be Consumed online store is a testament to that regional collaboration”.

The Barossa Be Consumed online store will be stocked with over 230 Barossa wines and gins from 40 different producers, allowing customers to shop beyond one wine brand and still enjoy the convenience of single, consolidated home delivery. Being consumed by Barossa from your lounge room (or makeshift home office!) couldn’t be easier.

Artisans of Barossa (AoB) are one of the producers who have helped launch the program, and encourage consumers to get behind the regional initiative.

“Every bottle that is purchased will help support a grower, a winemaker, a cellar hand, someone in the office, a local delivery driver, and ultimately an entire community,” said AoB’s Howard Duncan.

“Showing your support now will help us continue making world-class wine for many generations to come,” he said.

The store opens at noon Wednesday, 8 April 2020, for a limited time only, closing at midnight on Sunday, 19 April 2020. All proceeds go directly to the producers, ensuring the valuable support goes to where it is needed the most.
