Stamford Plaza Adelaide – New High Teas

Situated in the heart of Adelaide, the Stamford Plaza is a popular destination for those craving impeccable service in a beautifully adorned setup. Expanding on their previously established High tea menu,

Stamford’s elite pastry team have worked together to create their new gluten free and chocolate high teas. Combining a selection of finely crafted desserts, assorted sandwiches and hot finger foods, there is sure to be something to please everyone!

Traditional Sir Stamford High Tea

Sandwiches
Combining all the classic aspects of your typical high tea, the Traditional Sir Stamford tea offers a selection of three different gourmet sandwiches: fresh cucumber with a smooth lemon crème fraiche, locally sourced Barossa valley pastrami with a zingy pickle mustard, and a smoked salmon with a creamy egg mayonnaise. By combining such simple yet classic flavours, these sandwich options did not disappoint!

Hot Savoury Options
The assortment of hot savoury options worked well to add an element of warmth and diversity to the high tea. Adapted from a traditional family recipe, the curry puffs were a delicious fusion of authentic Indian curry filling with flaky, melt-in your mouth pastry shell. In contrast, their Adelaide Hills free range chicken and leak tarte was a subtle yet classic flavour combination; paired with expertly crafted shortcrust shell, this too was simply divine. Lastly, the Mini truffled Porcini Mushroom Vol au Vent was a tiny bite-sized slice of heaven, with the creamy filling perfectly complementing its light puff pastry casing.

Sweet Pastries and Petite Fours
A variety of intricately crafted petite fours and sweet pastries provided the perfect conclusion to the tea. Classic scones, both fruit and plain, served with clotted cream and preserves, were deliciously light and fluffy. Other desserts included the authentic French delicacy macarons, a layered mango and coconut slice, a decadent white chocolate and Tonka bean meringue tart, and a wonderfully tart citrus gateaux with a delicious pastry base. This extensive spread of sweets was a delightful addition to the high tea, proving to be just as aesthetically pleasing as they were flavoursome.

Gluten Free Sir Stamford High Tea
To ensure all guests are catered to accordingly, the Stamford also offers a gluten free spread. Like the traditional Sir Stamford Tea, this provides the same selection of sandwiches, only on gluten free bread, as well as alternative gluten free dessert and hot savoury options. Served with the option of tea and coffee, or champagne if you’re feeling fancy, both high teas are great value at $39 per person.

Chocolate High Tea
this high tea offers all the same elements as the traditional, but with a decadent twist, ideal for all you chocolate lovers! Swapping out the prior desserts for a spread of chocolatey goodness, this tea is slightly more expensive at $49 per person, but definitely worth the splurge! Fresh chocolate scones, layered opera slice, rich chocolate biscuit roll and hazelnut and chocolate macarons are among the scrumptious delicacies this experience has to offer. Another spectacular option, this tea was simply to die for.

With such a broad selection of High Tea options, the Stamford is sure to have something to please everyone. Whether it be a special occasion, or merely an opportunity to treat yourself, this unique dining experience combines exceptionally crafted food with impeccable service; a must try for those who appreciate the finer things.
