Mado

The last two businesses at this exact same location were kebab shops so it was no surprise that Mado was one as well. Located close to the middle of Gouger Street, this place offers a selection of dips, char grilled kebabs, salads and yiros. Almost perfect for the late night crowd looking for a hangover cure.

For lunch, I ordered the Combination Yiros on a Plate. The dish came out 10 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The mixture of lamb and chicken meat was well marinated, however, a little on the dry side. The garlic sauce was a tad watery, however, the salad was fresh and crisp.

The staff were very friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable. The Yiros Plate set me back $12 which is a bargain compared to other places. While it’s not the best Yiros Plate I’ve ever had, if I was drunk, I probably wouldn’t care.
